NotePad — Open Source Notes App

A simple and intuitive notepad based on the app bundled with Palm Pilot.

Entirely offline, requiring few permissions to run.
- Permission to use external storage is only needed to back up or restore your notes on Marshmallow (Android 6) and older.
- Permission to run a foreground service is used when exporting or importing the notes to/from XML files, or when re-encrypting records when the password is changed. Allies to Pie (Android 9) and later.
Create any number of categories for different notes.
Mark notes as private and optionally encrypt them with a password.
Export notes to a local XML file.
Import notes from an XML file.
Backwards compatible with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and up.
